the earth is our home, but also our mother. earth free supply us all kindsof resources, but we still for a little petty profit, regardless of theconsequences of wanton to destroy her. as the only one earth, "the article said,we can't count on destroyed the earth moving to other planets, the earth iflost, then fell to the earth's fate will eventually befall humans. so we toolate, too late, to protect our earth, care for the environment, i suggest you todo the following:

1. cherish now every mouthful of air, as far as possible to reduce thenumber of the factory, industrial waste gas will be less. the good news is, wesee the government has put many polluting factories, rectification within a timelimit or migration. we also know that every household use of coal gas has beenchanged to natural gas, advocating walking with less cars, this is to protectthe atmosphere. we more afforestation, forest not only can breathe fresh air, also can purify the air. to stop deforestation behavior, less destruction ofnature.

2. don't abuse of various resources, such as coal, ore, wood, water... ifthese resources are endless, is bound to form all kinds of resources depletion, when people do not have the resources, we could not survive.

3. the water is the source of life, but it is too small. although thesurface looks large area on earth is covered by water, but with less than oneover ten, an acute shortage of water in many cities, so, we should save water.at present, the school advocates our toilet cistern in home put a mineral waterbottle, isn't it the measures to save water? use to wash the dishes, the waterthat clean out rice water the flowers, use wash clothes water to flush thetoilet, isn't it a to save water!

although we have one or two people can't change the fate of the earth, butas long as the whole nation is intravenous drip minor matter, starts from theside to protect and cherish our earth, the earth can dazzle the smiling face ofyouth!

good evening, everyone. my name is wanghaili. i am an outgoing girl who likes reading and traveling. it’s really my great honor to stand here and give everyone a short speech.

people say, youth is fire which is ignited by passion. people say, youth is a chapter of the poem which is written by stories. the color of youth is bright and we make most use of our ardor to draw the scenes to the canvas of painting. but we may be confused and lose our direction in the youth time. under this, youth slips away. roman roland says, life doesn’t issue return ticket and can never come back once sets out. so we should seize the short youth time and try our best to pursue our ideal. do what should we do and let our youth without regret.

when we refer to ideal, we will realize the importance of ideal. ideal is the beacon,. without ideal, we will lose the firm direction. without direction, we will lose our life. according to this, every one of us should establish our own ideal .so that we have the direction of straggle to the future. tolstoy tells us, we should have the life objective from the whole life to the second. so we should cherish every moment and form our systematic objective. youth is the prime time. we have strong body and energy and can sense the meaning of life under the guide of ideal.

hello everyone! my name isxxx, a student fromxxxxxxxcollege. i am glad to give you a speech about my university. the title of my speech is my college, my home.

last september i left my hometown with heavy baggage and after a journey of ten hours, i came to this dream campus with great expectation and excitement.

i was deeply attracted by the elegant environment of our campus the moment i stepped into the university. straight, wide roads enjoyed the shade and shelter provided by lordly, green trees. ancient buildings of great refinement enjoyed the company of flocks of birds flying and singing overhead. scrolls of warm welcome greeted me and volunteers with smiles came to my help. my heart was filled with warmth. yeah, this is the place where i will spend 4 years and this place will be my home!

whenever i recall the past days, so many thoughts are flooding in my mind. but what impressed me most is a night when i got a stomachache during the first days. i had to turn to the aunts in charge of our dormitory for help. they were so friendly and warm-hearted. they gave me the pills and reminded me of having more hot water. i recovered soon and i thanked them from the bottom of my heart because they brought me the warmth of home.

our university is a famous academic center. the teaching staff are all learned professors. many of them are world-wide known for their wide range of knowledge and charming personality. i respect my teachers! i admire my teachers! i love my teachers! various activities are carried here. they not only bring me happiness but also improve myself. i meet with a lot of classmates and make a large number of friends. when i feel upset, the will give me a hand; when i am happy, i will share with them. the library has a large collection of books and i always lose myself in it. i believe they will benefit me a lot and are to broaden the roads of my future.

i love you, xxxxuniversity! you are just a place which gives me warmth and strengths! you are my home!

my dear mr。 and misses, my fellows schoolmates,

good morning! as you know and see, it is a sunny bump harvest season。 in the city, in our school campus, everywhere is surrounded with roses which we together planted 4 years ago。 today may these roses and our friendship as well be together and comfort our excited hearts!

it was four years ago that everyone of us came from every part of china and formed a new collective。 as we are young, it’s very easy for us to communicate。 it was in the past four years that we were ambitious。 it was in the past four years that we worried。 it was in the past four years that we were content。 it was in the past four years that we were vexed。 it was in the past four years that we were friendly and lonely 。。。 and it was in the past fours that we studied, lived and respected each other with genuine and with our ambitions。 nothing in the world is more significant than we miss all of these。

we miss you─teachers who are tireless in teaching; we will keep your gestures and your white hairs in our hearts deeply; we will miss the quietness with the lights at night in the classroom; we will miss the race and exercise on the playground; we will miss even the crowds in the dining hall and the quarrel on the beds; we will still miss every green piece and every piece of waste paper flying like flakes in the air 。。。 however, today we will leave nothing but the first rose with our alma mater and our teachers which is entrusted with our love and respect。

4 years seems very long but 4 years seems very short。 from now on, we all will go into the society。 the society is broad and wide for us。 we will shoulder heavy responsibilities; we will work diligently; and we will expect to be informed of good news from one another。 now, i beg you all to cherish the occasion; to remember the names, the status, appearance and the character of the person around you。 now let’s be hand in hand together; let’s present the rose to each other。 may the rose carry our appreciation and blessing! we are very closely linked no matter what the world may be。 may the fresh rose in our hands keep its fragrants!

thank you all again!

as many of you may know, i am a first-generation college graduate – i’m proud of it. my family had very little money. we lived in a small town.

and try as i might to fit in, i always felt like an outsider and often was treated as one. my father was an immigrant, and the only person around who spoke with a strong foreign accent. in elementary school, i was the only jewish girl.

and…and one day – i remember this vividly – in fifth grade, i learned just how easily false stereotypes about minorities can arise.

that’s when another blond-haired, blue-eyed girl moved into my class. my best friend diane took one look, turned to me, and said, “oh! she must be jewish, too!”

my hometown may not have understood or celebrated diversity, but it treated me and my family respectfully.

i never took that for granted given my father’s escape from nazi germany. my parents even joined with others in neighboring towns to create the first synagogue.

wonderfully…wonderfully…wonderfully dedicated and caring teachers helped prepare me for college. and i couldn’t wait to go.

learn how to say no

we've all been taught that we should help people. it is the right thing to do and will make us popular with others. it may even win us favors in return. however, we must be realistic. we can't say yes to every request. if we did, we would fail or go crazy for sure. sometimes we simply don't have the time to help. in this case, we must know how to say no politely.

when we need to say no, here is one method we can try. first, we should tell the truth. if we really can't do something, we should just say so. second, we should remember to refuse requests politely. we must communicate clearly, but must also be sincere and sympathetic. a true friend will understand. finally, we must not feel guilty about saying no. sometimes refusing others is the right thing to do. it can save ourselves, and them, a lot of trouble. in short, we cannot please everyone all the time. refusing favors is a part of life.

good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. today i would like to begin with a story.

yes, that's a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called gorillas in the mist, based on a true story of mrs. dian fossey, who spent most of bet lifetime in rwanda to protect the ecoenvironment there until the very end of her life.

to me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a 6) timeless reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our ecoenvironment.

all these 7) appalling(令人震惊的) facts have brought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been 8) eroding(侵蚀) our resources. encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel has put tourism again in the spotlight, which is why the united nations has made 20xx the year of ecotourism, for the first time to bring to the world's attention the benefits of tourism, but also its capacity to destroy our ecoenvironment.

now every year, many local ecoenvironmental protection organizations an: receiving donations--big notes, small notes or even coins--from housewives, 9) plumbers(水管工人), ambulance drivers, salesmen, teachers, children and 10) invalids(残疾人), some of them can not afford to send the money but they do. these are the ones who drive the cabs, who nurse in hospitals, who are suffering from ecological damage in their neighborhood. why? because they care. because they still want their mother nature back. because they know it still belongs to them.

this kind of feeling that i have, ladies and gentlemen, is when it feels like it, smells like it, and looks like it, it's all coming from a scene to remember, a scene to recall and to cherish.

the other night, as l saw the moon linger over the land and before it was sent into the invisible, my mind was filled with songs. i found myself humming softly, not to the music, but to some- thing else, someplace else. a place remembered, a place untouched, a field of grass where no one seem to have been except the deer.

and all those unforgettable scenes strengthened the feeling that it's lime for us to do something, for our own and our coming generation.

once again, i have come to think of mrs. dian fossey be- cause it's with her spirit, passion, courage and strong sense of our ecoenvironment that we are taking our next step into the world.

and no matter who we are, what we do and where we go, in our mind, there's always a scene to remember, a scene worth our effort to protect it and fight for it.

thank you very much.
