orphans are children who have no parents, so they live in orphanages. today, lets take a look at a book about orphans - oliver twist.
the protagonist of this book is a poor orphan. his name is oliver. his mother died as soon as he was born, so he was taken to the orphanage. but that orphanage is not a good place, because the director there is very bad to the orphans, the orphans hate him. the supervisor also apprenticed olivier to the coffin shop. in the coffin shop, olifi was abused, so he fled to london. as a result, he was brought into the den by the thief "smart ghost" and was forced to embark on the ship. fortunately, with the help of mr. brownlow and miss ruth, olife successfully escaped from fagin and others, and let the police turn over the den. menx also tells about the life experience of olifi: menx and olifi are actually half brothers. however, olifis father had passed away, and his property was divided between his two sons. since then, olivier has lived with mr. brownlow······
the author dickens wrote "oliver twist" wonderfully, and the plot is also very dangerous, so it attracts the readers at once, and makes the readers mood change with the plot of the story.
there is always a dark side to life. however, the light will always prevail over the dark, there will be countless "mr. brownlow" and "miss ruth" to help those in trouble. i also want to learn from them: try my best to help others, and always have a good heart.
to regain the nature of goodness -- review of ‘oliver twist’ oliver twist one of the most famous works of charles dickens’ is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in britain in 18th century.
the author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in london. the hero of this novel was oliver twist an orphan who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. he suffered enormous pain such as hunger thirst beating and abuse. while reading the tragic experiences of the little oliver i was shocked by his sufferings. i felt for the poor boy but at the same time i detested the evil fagin and the brutal bill. to my relief as was written in all the best stories the goodness eventually conquered devil and oliver lived a happy life in the end. one of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft little oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of mrs. maylie and rose and began a new life. he went for walks with them or rose read to him and he worked hard at his lessons. he felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty.
how can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? the reason is the nature of goodness. i think it is the most important information implied in the novel by dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. although i don’t think goodness is omnipotent yet i do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded. for me the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person. goodness is to humans what water is to fish. he who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person.
on the contrary as the famous saying goes ‘the fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose’ he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. people receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself.
in response to the call of the "march 8, march day," series of activities to "read a good book", i once again look back on the famous book, gone with the wind, which i loved most when i was a teenager.
"gone with the wind" is a novel about war. more specifically, this is a novel based on the american civil war. the people who saw gone with the wind were all impressed by scarlett, who was still bright and strong in the war, but i was always fascinated by the man named rhett.
when i read the book to live,i know i have own a lot of happiness in this live allowed me to see the people’s suffering and hardship in old china.but the most important is the spirit that age gives to them.
to live described fugui’s life who lives in the cultural revolution and great leap forward.fugui borns in a host family, when he was young,he often went outside gambling.so that in theendhe spent all the property under the trap which others had designed.at that time,he had got married with his wife day, when he went out to borrow money for looking doctors for his parents,he was caught to join the army.almost all the soldiers had died, but he struggled to live and luckly got together with his family, when his mother had gone and his daughter fengxia had been a dumb because of illness.his family were very happy because of his ing back.for he had not been assigned to the landlord constituents, they lived a poor and happy life.of the past with each passing day,his little son was going to middle school, but his disaster began again.his son lost his life for saving his classmate whose father is the mayor of the town.backlog of the pain and frustration,he and his wi

its simple plot relates the misfortunes of the loyal christian slave, tom, who, deprived of familial love and affection and destined for the harsh life of plantation slavery, doesn’t rebel or curse god, but philosophically accepts his cruel fate. he could leap overboard cold river to save the drowning daughter of a wealthy white passenger who gratefully rewards the brave negro by buying him.
tom seems destined, now, to live out his life in a pleasant new orleans mansion, spending his days reading bible aloud and singing religious hymns with the angelic little eva. but the child dies of tuberculosis, having first elicited a promise from her father to free the loyal tom. the father is killed , however, in a brawl before he can fulfill his pledge and his widow is forced to sell tom, who bees the property of the heartless simon legree. he soon learns how really harsh the life of plantation can be, but he remains true to his religious training, elated by his pious acceptance of god’s will. harassed by the evil legree ,tom displays his christian charity by refusing to flog another slave 。simon legree may not own tom’s soul ,but he can do as he chooses with the body, and he orders two of his slaves, sambo and quimba, to whip the unresisting tom, whose only responses to the merciless beating is a plea to stop in order that legree might save his own soul.
on his deathbed, tom charitably forgives the harsh legree. ironically, he lives long enough to witness the arrival of his former master’s son, e to redeem the family pledge by buying him back and granting his freedom.
the theme of uncle tom’s cabin, for its all apparent simplicity, is representative of much of 19th century american fiction of the good man opposed by evil personified under the circumstance of slavery.
what strikes me is tom’s loyalty to his religious belief. all of us has our own belief , it plays a most important part in our life, it supports us whenever we are caught in rough conditions ,it helps us get out of the dark to see the sunrise, it teach us how to adapt ourselves to different circumstances.
life is full of ups and downs; we should hold our belief to fight against them to realize our goals!
